Sometimes we can become discouraged and begin to doubt our salvation because it is not something that we can see or always feel. We need to guard ourselves against discouragement by remembering and believing God’s Word and what it says about us.
Your Sins Are Forgiven
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
How can our sins be forgiven?
“Blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord will never count against them.”
Why should we be joyful?
You Have Accepted Salvation by Faith – Keep Believing!
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
How are we made right with God?
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
What should we do when we doubt?
You Have a New Life in God!
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
What happened when you became a Christian?
So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Who should we be led by in our new lives?
The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;
idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions
and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
What kind of lifestyle leads us away from God’s Kingdom?
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
What happens when our lives are controlled by the Holy Spirit?
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
What happened to our sinful natures when we became Christians?
